Melissa has always had a passion for working with pregnant mothers and babies.  Prior to nursing, she was a Spanish and ESOL teacher.  Realizing that nursing was a “bucket list item,” she decided to pursue her nursing degree from Georgia State University and Western Governors University.  She worked as a Labor and Delivery and Newborn Admission Team nurse for five years before joining the nursing team of Georgia Perinatal Consultants in 2021.   Her love of education and nursing lead her to further her own education and become a Family Nurse Practitioner from Columbus State University in 2023.  She is excited to bring her excitement and passion to a new role.  Outside of work,  Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, trying new restaurants, and listening to podcasts.
