Dr. Gomez joined Georgia Perinatal Consultants in 2002, contributing an extensive educational background with multiple board certifications including Ob-Gyn, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and Medical Genetics.   He is also certified in Fetal Echocardiography.

Dr. Gomez completed a combined B.S./M.D. program at the Sophie Davis Center for Biomedical Education in New York, and received his medical degree from New York Medical College.  Following his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brookdale University Hospital, Dr. Gomez completed a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Florida.  He subsequently completed three post-doctoral fellowships at Yale University School of Medicine, including Obstetrical Ultrasound and Prenatal Diagnosis, Medical Genetics, and Diagnostic Fetal Echocardiography.

Dr. Gomez has held academic appointments at Morehouse School of Medicine, the University of Florida School of Medicine, and Yale University School of Medicine where he received the Nathan Kase Award for Teaching.  He has served on the Governor’s Council on Maternal and Infant Health and is a member of numerous medical societies.

Dr. Gomez is widely published including numerous scientific journals and book chapters.  He has worked with NASA on research projects, as well as lectured nationally on a variety of perinatal topics.
